OpenAI sees roughly $5 billion loss this year on $3.7 billion in revenue. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I understand correctly, the business and market model of OpenAI and other similar so called generative AI devices, is the control and instrumentation of the users with the OpenAI programs, products and services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the history and practice of market commerce, users and consumers pay money for the acquisition of instruments for their use, instrumentation and exploitation (benefit, profit, interest etc) which they manage and control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which user or consumer, physical or legal entity, will pay OpenAI, Microsoft and similar business entities, to get under their program (information device, which ever this is), this meaning under their instrumentation, exploitation, management and control, instead of the logical and practical reverse, remains to be seen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Irrespective of the profound legal and ethical issues in these so called generative AI projects, there is also the market and commercial issue, of the transaction being reversed. Here, the seller, producer and programmer is the principal user and controller and the buyer, consumer (and otherwise user and controller), is the used and controlled, for so called, monetary market value. This transaction reversal, is novel in legal theory and in and commercial market practice, so this author has serious doubts of its financial, economic and technological success. Nevertheless human history is rich with novelties, so time will tell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The underlying project of OpenAI and its collaborators, appears even more bold and grand. This is the central control, administration and management of businesses and every other user, via the generative Chat etc. information devices, by the OpenAI master or minor programmers, managers and controllers, George Soros, Sam Altman or whoever this is, in the instrumentation context described. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is no less astounding, but again, human ingenuity is unlimited, humanoid transformation and human robotics in business and in life, is an emerging practice with examples on record, so again time, will tell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile OpenAI, backed by\u00a0Microsoft and others, with this business model and this commercial horizon, marketing and sales, heads for a funding round that would value the company at $150+ billion. This value is extreme, either too low or too high, positive or negative, risky or certain revenue, depending on the instrumentation and exploitation exchange between consumer and producer (user and programmer) and specifically on the level of technology and economy exchange between the transacting parties (monetary, instrumental and other), and the position of parties in the exploitation \/ instrumentation side of the deal (exploited and exploiter). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words, backed by\u00a0Microsoft and others, OpenAI heads for a funding round that would value the company at $150+ billion, without clarification on the fundamental business model, market function and commercial transaction. Specifically, without definition, which side in the transaction between buyer – seller of the devices, will pay the other and for what (information and other service) exactly (the large language models and the generative programs of OpenAI, are not public). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
