Geopolitics are regional but more are international and global. Therefore,
Geopolitics = National + International Political Interests + Policy of Principle.
Extremism, Terrorism, Energy, Finance, Private & Corporate Interests are out of the equation. Economic and trade interests are part but subordinate. Therefore,
Global Geopolitics = People, Policy and Politics.
In the Middle East and everywhere.
The regional and international influence of Russia is primarily for security and stability. Predominantly political, cultural and economic. On commercial matters, Russia has ample, own energy resources. It does not need energy from the Middle East.
Russia has international, geographical, geopolitical, economic, trade etc, interests and reach, in the Middle East and everywhere, through and worldwide, just like every other nation has. According to each national, natural, territorial particularities, conditions, interests etc.
This geopolitical reach is dynamic and fluctuating, not static and cyclical. It is also interchangeable and exchangeable. Therefore it is not contentious or confrontational by definition. Global geopolitics are highly competitive. Also standard for all parties, states and powers.
Military means are at play but always auxiliary. Never (ever) as first, primary means (of force). This is significant technical and technological point, not moral point.
