Intelligence is interactive and reproductive. Correspondingly, intelligence is relational, organisational and jointly conditional. In the evolutionary context, intelligence relates to the interactivity, integrity, autonomy and independence of entities. These entity features are relative to the dynamics of energy (limitation, variation, dimension, mass, motion, information and evolution).

Evolution is dynamic and natural, intelligent and superior. Natural evolution extends to human and technical (technological) evolution. Finally evolution is metabolic, interactive and reproductive, therefore transformative.

Like everything, human beings and by extension the human mind, are integral parts of the energy driven, dynamics of dimension, of the interactive universal and celestial mass, of the planet condition and of the natural and technical (and artificial) environment. All inorganic, organic, biological and human entities, including technical and artificial entities draw from natural evolution. They are therefore interactive (and reproductive), relational, organisational, conditional and dynamic. Accordingly the interactive integrity and independence of entities is therefore relative and variable. Against universal fragmentation, impermeable insulation and absolute exclusion.

The evolutionary dynamics of energy and its standard properties and specifically the interchanges between the quantum and physical states of definition, provide that integrity and independence of entities, is in fact proportionate to their interactivity and reproductivity in the condition of derivative and corresponding, relation and organisation.

For this reason human beings are in fact the highest, dependent (in sense) and independent (in motion), entities and evolutionary creatures, known. This is evident in the human features of autonomy, liberty, mentality, accentuation of human logic and psychology. Also of the human information management, of the control of motion, of relativity and intelligence.

This evolutionary origin and universal relation (interaction, integration and integrity), the direct recourse to the fundamentals and the dive to spiritual intelligence (ever present and integral in energy dynamics), explain the awesome, human simplicity and facility in the conception,  comprehension and communication of the energy fundamentals. Notably with education and experience, across universal, natural and human (technical) evolution and specifically through philosophy, science, academic discipline and the works of life, from theoretical physics, biology and neurology, through to history, civilisation, business, arts, sports and athletics.

Regarding evolution it must be further stated that human intelligence developed from the control of motion and specifically from the control of the 3-dimensional motion, of the free hands. The neurological control of motion of the (free) hands extended to the intelligent control of human interaction (relational) and reproduction (organisational) and jointly, conditional, which is economic, technological and ecological. The sensory – motor control of motion extends further to human mind and intelligence, emotional psychology and rational logic, with features like, perception, interpretation, conception, comprehension, cognition, consciousness, contemplation, communication, abstract thought, memory, imagination and intuitive feeling.

Put simply, intelligence is what we do next (in motion and dimension). Complex mental processes of thoughts, like in mathematics, facilitate (physical) calculation for the human control of motion. As mentioned, extension of the control of motion, is the control of interaction (relational) and reproduction (organisational).

The same stands with instrumentation and technology etc. So the human understanding of mathematical relations is real, relative, integral, universal and evolutionary. Plus in human neurology the control of motion is mental,

  • Reflexive, therefore emotional, faster, approximate, probable (quantum and potential), less structured and lower defined.
  • Reflective, therefore logical, slower, accurate, programmed (physical and real) and more structured and higher defined.

As mentioned intelligence is the neurological, sensory – motor combination of the two, in the biological, metabolic and mental, sequence of interchanging (relational) interactions and (organisational) reproductions and the creation of variable dynamic conditions.

The control of motion and interaction draws specifically from the management of derivative information and communication in the aforementioned mental functions, rational states and emotional conditions.

In the cycle of life, gender diversity and sexual interaction, for the genetic enrichment and evolution with biological reproduction, developed early on. Accordingly gender diversity and sexual reproduction, draw deep in the origin of biological evolution. Gender division arrived early and low at the level of evolution counting c. two billion years.

The physical, neurological, psychological and mental diversity between the genders, denotes the  significance of biological reproduction, metabolic interaction and genetic variation, in life and in evolution.

The management of the sensory (action) and motor (reaction) information interchanges in neurological interactions, is the critical factor in the systematic organisation of mind and intelligence. The differences in the psychology of the male and female genders, reflect these balanced dynamics. The differences in information intellectual mentality management between the genders, serve the male and female, interaction and reproduction, match (mate). This respective mental and emotional management, sets the the dynamics of energy (power and force) and the derivative control of motion and interaction (relation, organisation and condition) and dimension, in the light of the intelligence patterns of the respective genders.

This information management also reflects the average interchanges of quantum (potential) and physical (real) states and the variations of definition, in either sides of abstraction, approximation and accuracy and of probability, possibility and programming.

This gender configuration translates therefore as follows in the relative and average human neurology, psychology, in the powerful interactions and in the dynamics of the intelligent mental function between the genders:

  • In masculin interchanges of mental and emotional state, of definition variations and of derivative information management, the physical element of logic and reason is more potent and reflective (metabolism first), in relative terms.
  • In feminin interchanges of mental and emotional state, of definition variations and of derivative information management, the quantum element of psychology and emotion is more potent and reflexive (reproduction first), in relative terms.

Which of the two is more poweful and when, I leave to the contemplation and the imagination of the readers, with the useful note that in human interactions and sexual reproductions, gender variations serve reproduction and the paramount, evolution. For example and for comparison, which trajectory of motion is more intelligent and dynamic in geomerty, is it the lean and linear or the voluptuous and elliptic? Considering (a) dynamic intechanges and variations in the rates of motion and momentum, materialized in speed and accelaration, (b) the variable and dynamic integration and integrity in the gender intellectuallity, in human neurology and biology, (c) the complementation of (ca) relative extrovert interaction and relative introvert reproduction, (cb) relation and organisation, (cc) regulation and condition formulation.

As opposed to the biological reproductive (not neurological and interactive) variations to sexual gender, racial variations are physical, superficial and derivative of the adaptations to the environmental and climatic conditions. Racial differences arrive very late and very high in the scale of evolution, counting few decades of thousands of years, during the last interglacial period, at the most.

Regarding the human species (homo sapiens sapiens) it must be stated also that physiologically different is not the black race, but the other, derivative, races in the out-of Africa migration and adaptation, dissemination, relocation and habitation, process.

Regarding the continental, climatic and environmental evolution, it must be stated also that the aforementioned dynamics of intelligence denote variations only at the normal individual level across the human beings. At the collective level, the intelligence variations are also normal across ethnic, cultural, social, economic, political, technological and economic groups. This is profound, because race is physiological variation, not physical, biological or genetic (RNA and DNA) in the hereditary sequence of neurological dynamic (plastic and elastic)  interactions and in the course of evolutionary reproductions. In addition is intelligence draws from information but also from communication and interrelation, exchange and interchange, interaction and transaction, at collective level (common sense).

Finally a last point in evolution. The reason, why other inorganic, organic and biological creatures and not intelligent or human, is because, energy, motion, derivative information, dimension and evolution, did not simply ask them, for intelligence adaptation at the human configuration and relation, level.

On the questions of the title of Cognition, Intelligence and AI:

  • What are the criteria for intelligence?

See above. The neurological control of motion and information is managerial, utilitarian, useful and instrumental, for the reasons explained.

The control of motion extends to the control of interaction (relational) and reproduction (organisational) and jointly in the development and evolution of the human condition, including social, political, cultural, moral, legal, economic, ecological and technological.

The criteria for intelligence are the forms and functions, the structures and the systems developing from the interchange of neurological interactions and reproductions, and the mental (metabolic, transformative and evolutionary) control of motion and dimension and specifically from the sequences of the derivative definition interchanges (physical and precise / quantum and probable).

Accordingly the fundamental criterion of intelligence is the relational and organisational relativity of interactions and reproductions and the development of evolutionary conditions. Such conditions are quantum and physical, inorganic, organic, biological, neurological and human, rational and emotional, logical and psychological, technical, technological, ecological and economic and above all, they are evolutionary and dynamic.

Intelligence deals with information, instrumentation, exploitation, administration and management. Intelligence develops from education (principle) and experience (practice). Intelligence is therefore dynamic, intellectual and environmental rather than static, genetic and hereditary. Intelligence is relational and organisational, therefore quantitative and  qualitative and relative to the level of motion and interaction, reproduction and evolution.

Intelligence is intellectual and individual. Intelligence is mental and neurological not physiological (racial) or biological, quantum or physical. Intelligence depends on the variation of definition which is current and draws directly from the dynamics of energy (limitation, variation, dimension, mass, motion, information and evolution).

At the level of human evolution, the criterion of intelligence is economic and technological before moral or legal. This is the actual and intellectual respect to the dynamics of energy, evolution (genetics), education, experience and intelligence. The criterion of intelligence derives from the reference and respect to these precise spiritual and evolutionary dynamics of energy.  The standard of human intelligence is therefore adaptive and evolutionary.

  • What are the necessary components for defining consciousness?

See above on mentality. The components are neurological, sensory and motor, interactive and reproductive, mental (rational and emotional), relational and organisational and jointly conditional. Functions of mentality are perception, interpretation, conception, comprehension, cognition, contemplation, communication, abstract thought, memory, imagination and intuitive feeling, inter alia. The main component of consciousness besides information, is dimension.

  • How can an outside observer test for these criteria?

See above. Via interaction (and reproduction), relation, organisation and condition, intuition, experience and education.

  • Whether it is possible to artificially create consciousness (usually in the context of computers or machines), and of how to tell a well-trained mimic from a sentient entity.

This is question of development of robotics and specifically of androids. Automation is reproductive. Therefore it is static rather than interactive and dynamic. It also physical and programmed not quantum and probable. Computers are machines, therefore human instruments for information processing. The machine does not manage probability and variation at the human level of dimension and definition. Therefore (a) the machine lacks operational autonomy and real interactivity other than instrumentation (programming) and (b) the interaction is between the programmer and the user via the device – programmed instrument.

Additional problem is that the decouple from the evolutionary dynamics is illogical and so impossible even for robotics of highest technological level (or because of this), to conceive. The capacity and relation of instrumentation between user and programmer, is inseparable of devices and machines.

The natural intelligence and the so called machine learning artificial intelligence, are essentially different in program.

  • Natural intelligence, runs on programs of energy patterns and motifs, developed during c. 14 billion years of universal evolution and with instrumentation for user’s practice and technology, model.
  • So called generative AI artificial intelligence, runs on programs of large language models, developed during the last few years of human IT evolution, by programmers in the service of few major producers in IT and finance and with instrumentation for producer’s, business and politics, model.

Finally low definition quantum states are probable and so impossible to program unless elevated to physical. The management of information refers to the energy dynamics and to the interchanges of low definition quantum states and high definition physical conditions.

  • A related field is the so called ethics of artificial intelligence, which appears to address such problems as the existence of moral personhood of AIs,

Personhood, moral or immoral have only physical human entities for the reasons of relational interactivity and organisational individuality described.

Technical devices, including IT devices are instruments and the relations are instrumental with the users. AI devices run on programs, therefore on the interactions and relations, moral or immoral, which are between the consumers / users – persons and the producers / programmers – persons. The devices are instrumental and managed and programmed by physical persons. Morality is attribute of human personhood only. Morality has an economic and technological attribute which however is individual and social / collective but dynamic and managerial, quantum and physical, therefore applicable to the persons not to their instruments for this precise reason.

At the current level of technological development the Chatboxes are not robots or even androids. They are higher tech, tape recorders (operation) as music players but purport to be generative search engines. For this reason the level of programming of Chatboxes is higher than that of search engines. Put simply, Chatboxes are programmed search engine devices, using large language models more extensively and programmed than search engines. This is why Chatboxes are geared towards the (static) service of the programmer rather than the dynamic (service) of the user, besides the ancillary financial and political reasons, at play.

Finally and again, reproduction is dynamic rather than static, this is why it is evolutionary and this is why nature and the spiritual dynamics of energy, are so more intelligent and intellectually superior than certain persons.

  • the possibility of moral obligations to AIs (for instance, the right of a possibly sentient computer system to not be turned off),

See above. Moral relations are personal, interpersonal and collective. Person is human with biological and neurological organism not mechanical organization. The relation with the machine (however AI or else labeled) is utilitarian and instrumental.

  • the question of making AIs that behave ethically towards humans and others.

See above. AI instruments do not “behave”. Only operate. Behaviour is interactive and reproductive. The question is about making the programmers and producers of the instruments rather than the instruments, applications and devices, behave ethically, legally, economically, ecologically and technologically and responsibly, towards humans and others. This issue is commercial and financial before else.
