What is Philosophy?
Philosophy is the rational study of general and fundamental questions of the mind like:
- What is true? The philosophical domain which engages in the examination of the true via the study of concepts like reality and existence is Metaphysics.
- What is right? The philosophical domain which engages in the examination of the right via the study of concepts like knowledge is Epistemology.
- What is good? The philosophical domain which engages in the examination of the good via the study of concepts like principles, values and conducts is Ethics.
- What is beautiful? The philosophical domain which engages in the examination of the beautiful via the study of concepts like norm, harmony, attraction and appreciation is Aesthetics.
The True, the Right, the Good and the Beautiful are predominantly mental judgements which derive from neurological sensory – motor relational (interactive) and organisational (reproductive) effects.
